Globalink and the Modernization of Yerevan International Airport .

Globalink Logistics Group, renowned for providing superior, reliable and professional transportation and logistics services, was recently contracted to handle a turnkey project by the Civil Aviation Authority of Yerevan, Armenia for the renovation and modernization of Yerevan International Airport.

The general freight, consisting of numerous containerized cargo and general cargo, as well as oversized and overweight pieces, was to be collected from multiple locations throughout Europe and the Far East. The oversized cargo consisted of ‘boarding ramps’ with a collective weight in excess of 200 tonnes and with several pieces approximately 20 meters in length. This oversize freight presented a great challenge, but with proven capabilities on handling sea and surface transportation, collecting the shipments from various sites and through our own network, it was handled smoothly, efficiently and on schedule.

Upon arrival at the port of Poti, Georgia, the shipment was met by our Globalink Poti Team which was already in place with all the necessary equipment (heavy cranes, special low bed trucks, etc) and an eagerness to start. Due to the enormous volume, the oversized pieces were transloaded onto special low bed trailers while the containerized and general cargo was onforwarded by rail, as well as on our own fleet of trucks. The shipment, under escort, then left for it final destination: Yerevan Armenia.

Having handled the delivery portion exceptionally, Globalink Yerevan then took an active part in the equipment installation. Providing all required local services including positioning cranes and trucks to having onsite personnel for supervision of lashing and other essential services, our Globalink Yerevan team worked vigorously until the job was accomplished.
